Matt Thekkethala (he/him) is a playwright and performer based in Philadelphia. His plays are swollen clown cars inhabited by taboos, neuroses, mythologies, and vendettas. Recent works include VULTURINE (UT New Theatre, NPC Semifinalist), ARE YOU OK IN THERE? (Cohen New Works Festival), AHIMSA (Pittsburgh New Works Festival), ADRIEN VS. PREDATOR (The Larking House), and ROM.COM (The NOLA Project). He was a finalist for the 2026/27 Alliance Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition, a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the 2024 Sewanee Writers Conference, and a James A. Michener Writing Fellow at UT Austin. As an actor, Matt has performed at the UT New Theatre Festival for three consecutive years, and has toured New Orleans public schools with Goat in the Road Productions’ student play showcase.
